Wetaskiwin, named from the Cree Indians meaning “Hills of Peace”, is one of the oldest cities in Alberta. The city has much to offer: a first class airport, the original Wetaskiwin Sunset Speedway, two great golf courses, world class walleye fishing close by and… Canadian Champion soft ball champs. The best softball pitcher in the world, Mr. Jevne, came from here.
