Stony Rapids, SKAirport information
City information![]() Camp Grayling Stony Rapids is an off- reserve hamlet of about 300 people. The majority of people are only able to come in and out of the community by plane, as Stony Rapids is a fly-in community. Located 40-miles from the border of Northwest Territories, the community overlooks the Fond-du-Lac River. There is no paved road that connects Stony Rapids to the rest of the province. However, there is a winter ice road from Fond-du-Lac and Uranium City for most of the winter. In the summer months, the travel is done by boat. Like most northern settlements, Stony Rapids relies on its Stony Rapids Airport for vital transportation. ![]() Great catch! Fishing is one of Stony Rapids’s main attraction. There is lots of trout, jack fish, and walleye in Stony. Widlife such as caribou, rabbit, ptarmigan is also abundant. Our stay is made possible by Scott Hale, in charge of fuel supply and the general store, and Shannon and Devin Blum, owners of Camp Grayling. To learn more about the Camp Grayling, click here.
