From primarily agricultural, Mirabel became a city in full industrial growth over the years through its diversication. Located at the foot of the Laurentide mountains, it offers to its 34,000 habitants access to cycle tracks, path of ski touring, and several equestrian trails as well as numerous gold courses, parks, tennis courts and art centers.

Mirabel, with its huge airport facility, one of the most modern state of the art international airport in Canada built by Pierre Trudeau, attracts large compagnies such as Bombardier, Bell Helicopter Textron, Technicolor. Mirabel continues to grow with the venue of other major international corporations but keeps the charm and peaceful, natural environment of the past.
